reThink Your Commute and the City of Kissimmee invite all Kissimmee-area employers and their employees to participate in a Bike to Work Day event in Kissimmee on Friday, March 4, 2022.
Details about the Bike Route
- The ride will be 3 miles, primarily on the scenic Lakefront Trail. The ride is estimated to take 30 minutes, depending on the bike rider.

How long is the ride?
- The ride is 3 miles.
- The group ride will begin and end at Ruby Plaza in downtown Kissimmee.
- Individual riders may leave the group ride at any point along the route to reach their actual worksite.
- The group ride will be slow-paced and all traffic laws will be followed. A police escort has been requested for this event.
Do I need to bring my own bike?
- Participants are expected to bring their own bicycle or ride to the morning meet-up location. Parking is available at Ruby Plaza for those who drive a motor vehicle to the morning meet-up location.
Do I have to wear a helmet?
- Riders must sign a waiver and wear a bicycle helmet to participate in the group ride.
- Free bike helmets will be available at Ruby Plaza during check-in courtesy of Bike Walk Central Florida and FDOT District Five.
What about bike lights?
- The bike ride will take place after sunrise, so bike lights will not be needed. However, a limited number of bike lights will be available for riders who need them.
Why is this event taking place? Who is organizing it?
- This event is organized by reThink Your Commute (a program of the Florida Department of Transportation) and the City of Kissimmee. All Kissimmee-area employers and their employees are invited to participate!
